Las Vegas Music Benefit Show For Victims
The events of October 2nd at the Route 91 festival shocked and surprised Las Vegas as well as the entire country going on the record as the deadliest mass shooting event in modern history. Here in Las Vegas everyone knows someone or has a close relationship with someone that was affected by this horrific act of violence and terror. The days that followed the event we began to meet and encounter far more people than we ever imagined struck by this tragedy. From grocery stores to gas stations every single person you could just tell had a connection that needed no explanation. Even the lovely woman scanning our purchases in the Target check out line had her sons best friend shot and killed. Her eyes welled up with tears as her heart was broken for her son’s loss.
Co-workers witnessed first hand seeing the horrific massacre of people standing right next to them. A friend’s granddaughter who almost went but did not last minute but her two friends did and both were shot. It is story after story of this that we hear everyday since Sunday night. We held our family’s close hugged our kids a little bit longer.
Our hearts broke for those that were directly and indirectly involved in this. The road will be long for the ones that were there and that survived that day. Long term ramifications from surgeries to the physical therapy they will undergo to the PTSD they will all suffer from. The effects of this will last through this generation.
Las Vegas Benefit Concert For October 2nd Victims Of The Shooting
Las Vegas and the community that encompasses our city has come together in a beautiful and amazing way. Lines for blood donations circled the blocks and appointments were booked weeks out. Donations came flooding in from big to small local businesses and local residents so much to the point they had no place to put all the donations. A thank you and and we are full was a welcome greeting believe it or not.
Local restaurants like Pinches Tacos the family owned and operated restaurant with multiple locations in California and Las Vegas ruin by the Anaya family, feed our brave and sacrificing police force who put their lives on the line not only for this horrific day but on everyday they are out protecting our city.
Panacea our Boca Park plant based restaurant also gathered food to prepare for the people involved. To the many others as well thank you to you also.
The Arts Community helped as well, Obsidian art and owners Steve Antony and Mandy Joy both auctioned off artwork to donate to the victims fund. This is just scratching the surface as we have not ran across somebody who was not doing something to help with all other local artists and businesses in the Downtown community.
Local restaurants and staff jumped in the cause to help, employees at the many restaurants went out of their way and paid for the checks of the first responder police officers and their families as a thank you and appreciation for their sacrifice and dedication and efforts to keeping us safe. Once word gets out at a place that a group of metro is in and taking a break of their long twelve hour days until they get back out again, they find out that their meal has been taken care of.
Tattoo parlors jumped in on raising money as well like Freak’s Tattoo Parlor. As well as Red Rock N Tattoo and no doubt some others as well.
Musicians and bands have pulled together along with a host of volunteers and sponsors to put together a rock concert benefit show. Wade Eno of The Scorched a local Las Vegas band gathered folks together to organize a close to a 20 band line up show to raise funds for the Gofundme victims of Las Vegas shooting fund. The benefit concert show will be held on October, 2oth at 2pm at the Adrenalin Sports Bar
