The Women Behind The Gallery By Joshua Deats
A true visionary, Jana from Jana’s RedRoom nestled in the heart of the Arts District in Downtown Las Vegas embodies so much to so many things it is easy to get lost in her intriguing past, present, and future. As no newcomer to the art scene, Jana has been paying her dues since her first start as an up and coming hungry artist who would rent out art space for pieces at galleries, to moving on and studying professional commercial art graduating from the Dallas Art Institute. We can delve into her extensive past history and accomplishments but what is the most fascinating aspect to this southern jewel is where she is going and her vision on getting there. But what stands out is that she wants to bring everyone along for the adventurous ride. RedRoom Live is the brainchild of Jana and her team to propel the entire artists community to another level of exposure. DTLV and the artist district is an amazing place that she is finding a way to take direct to you. Being a focal point of over 200 artists, designers, and performers, Jana is akin to the protective mother bear opening the door to the cave to let some more light shine into their creative beauty. The ceiling for Jana and her team keeps getting hit, and the amazing thing is she seems to just continue on building a bigger room. Even going back to school nearly two decades after her first successful stint, this time for fine art. The RedRoom is like her fishbowl and Jana a Koi fish, and it is time for a bigger bowl. You know they only grow as large as their environment allows them, Our time spent with Jana was refreshing in that she spoke about the potential and greatness of the community and artists gaining exposure, and this project was not about herself. Starting local, then going regional, and plans to go national with sponsors, the manifest destiny Augmented reality, a huge information desk, all artwork will be digital to direct toward the artists work Her passion for the incredible talent that she feels is going unnoticed compared to many other art destinations such as Soho, LA, Chicago, and others, that there is something unique going on, and the supernova of creativity is about to shine on the rest of the country because many of these artists are so gifted, and starving, and working day and night just to have their voices heard and message seen. We can expect RedRoom live coming to us later this year, and hopefully, in the first few months of 2017 everything will be full swing. A viewing party after dark, and a daytime on location portion will be coming down the pipeline as well. Jana wants to come to your location, your studio, and your space, and explore exactly what it is that you do and the how the magic and inspiration is created. Her idea came from when she was featured on Noise TV first season episode one in January of 2016. She owned the show and worked the microphone and knew that bigger things were at her fingertips. ” I do not give a shit if I fail, I will not be embarrassed. If I fall down I will just try something else. If you want to quote me on anything, quote me on that. To stay up to date with this amazing women follower her on: Jana’s RedRoom
