    Fashion & Fairytales Boutique

Shopping at an independently owned and ran boutique, is a wonderful experience to have. Supporting our local entrepreneurs is some feel good fun shopping, especially when they have such great product and a unique concept. We found out about this boutique from an Instagram post by a local artist Emma Roberts of Desert Daisy Jewelry who used one of the dresses from this shop in their photo shoot. Having had just recently lost The Widow Den in The Arts District here in Downtown Las Vegas, I was eager to find some more local boutiques with interesting concepts. Score one for me we hit the jackpot with this little gem. A one stop shop for mommy and child. Being a mom myself the concept was ideal because of my rambunctious little one but they also carry some of my favorite brands, one being Free People. It does not stop there, they carry some pretty amazing local brands supporting our home grown artists. Such as : Roux & Bones Desert Daisy Jewelry Kiss Me Honey Lost Creek Glass Works Whiskey Kisses Nice line up right!

The shop is the brainchild of Alexis O’Connell a mother of 3 herself. Originally from Irvine, CA she had been a fashion buyer previous to her Fashion and Fairytales venture. This is clearly evident when you see all the handpicked items she has curated for the shop as they tie in wonderfully with each other and add to the theme and atmosphere.

The shop is funky, boho and has a splash of edge. She carries for women brands such as the previously mentioned Free People as well as: WildFox Couture & Project Social. She has an eye and picks items that have that have that small detail that make it unique and special. Like her tee shirts for example they all have a unique little edge to them, be it a ruffled sleeve to an open back tee shirt with a racer back. I wanted everything in the shop as my ooos and ahhhs were streaming forth like a giddy little school girl that got asked out to her first prom. It was a wonderland of special curated fashion that spoke so strong to my soul. Don’t get me started on the kids wear. I swear it will make you want to pop out another so you can buy the cute lemon onesie by Lil Lemon. You may have heard of their women’s brand For The Love Of Lemons another of my personal favorites. There is a little kids corner to occupy the little ones while the moms shop. This was a great help as while I was in there interviewing Mrs. O’Connell I had my son with me who enjoyed the store and wanted to return someday.  Follow Fashion and Fairytales on Instagram for new arrivals and updates.

Not only a truly wonderful shop with a charming owner and a must stop shop for the fashion loving free spirited mom, but it is about to turn your shopping world upside down.. What is next for this amazing little boutique? Well Alexis is adding a curbside shop system where moms or anyone for that matter can order online drive up and have the shopping bag brought out to them. When it is upwards of 115 degrees here in good old Las Vegas getting kids and in and out of a car is exhausting for our little humans so this is truly the perfect idea for moms and shoppers on the go.
